The Suede Edit: Three Suede Upgrades For Fall 2025

Fall is tricky for me. I'm usually a matching set kind of woman with head-to-toe looks that make getting dressed simple. But once the leaves start turning, I crave a little bit more texture to break up the sameness without losing the ease. That's where suede comes in.
This season, I'm building a tiny suede capsule with just three pieces that I know will carry me through unpredictable October mornings and surprisingly warm afternoons. Simple staples that instantly shift my wardrobe into fall mode.

1. The Suede Jacket or Blazer
I live in matching sets, so sometimes they need a little “third piece” to give them depth. A suede jacket does exactly that. Throw it over a knit set or a basic tee and trouser combo and suddenly the outfit feels richer—like you've put in more effort than you actually have. I love that suede has a presence without being loud. A cropped version keeps things sharp, while an oversized blazer adds that relaxed, slouchy vibe.

2. The Oversized Suede Bag
If I can recommend just one suede investment, it would be the bag. An oversized suede shoulder bag or tote instantly makes an outfit feel intentional and stylish. I keep coming back to the Coach Brooklyn Tote. It’s roomy enough to accommodate all the essentials, but sleek enough to look polished. Suede in bag form is surprisingly versatile. It’s casual and luxe all at once. Plus, it works year-round. So it won't feel like a wasted seasonal purchase.

3. The Suede Boot (or Clog)
Boots might be the classic suede choice, but I lean into clogs, too. There's something about a suede clog; it's cozy and a touch retro. Whether it's a knee-high boot in rich chocolate suede or a classic slip-on clog, footwear is where suede feels the most timeless. Suede shoes ground an outfit and provide that extra bit of texture that says fall.
Why This Works
I don't want a closet full of suede. I want a few pieces that elevate what I already love to wear. This little capsule—jacket, bag, and boots—gives me texture, versatility, and just enough trend to feel current. And the best part? I don't have to give up my matching sets or effortless outfits. Suede doesn't compete with them. It completes them.
